My work is termed impressionistic and represents a given moment in time. I have a love for romancing the composition, giving way to soft rhythms that flow into rich color combinations. Working on location on a regular basis lends greater strength to my paintings and allows me to create in a spontaneous manner. I am blessed with an undeniable connection to the past, through my studies with significantly important teachers. I feel this successfully carries over into my work. My training involves abstract beginnings leaving each phase of my ART inviting me back and some works can therefore be more abstract than others depending on degree of finish. Many years have been spent as a studio artist and portraitist. Now working in the open air, experiencing the sound of birds, and the feel of the wind, I am in a new phase. I have grown from the plein air experience and my projected goal is to continue en plein air, combining figure and landscape. I feel I have come full circle and am at the threshold of where I have been headed all my life, at the beginning! A great feeling. |
